Mountain biking through the Alps

A must-do summer activity, mountain biking in Arc 1950 gives you exclusive access to fantastic locations and marked trails that are impossible to reach by car. In the heart of the French Alps, you'll find almost 180 kilometres of mountain trails to explore - on a conventional mountain bike or an electric-assisted one. For visitors in July and August, be sure to check out Woodstock or Route 66, two of the Bike Park’s most popular trails.

Woodstock in the Alps

Accessible from the top of the Vallandry chairlift, the incredible Woodstock bike path descends for 5.9 kilometres through the ski slopes and the Plan Bois forest. As an added bonus, this mountain route offers panoramic views of the Aiguille Rousse and the north face of the Bellecôte massif.

Route 66: a bike trip for all to enjoy

With 23 kilometres to cover, Route 66 is the perfect mountain bike route for a family outing. This marked path is perfectly safe for the little ones and the scenery is sure to win over visitors from all walks of life. On this trail you’ll experience:

  • A charming ride along the Isère
  • Breathtaking views of the Bec Rouge and the Sainte-Foy Tarentaise resort
  • An unmissable stop-off at the Hauts de Villaroger nature reserve
  • And let's not forget a visit to the Arc 1950 village!

Route 66 is open to mountain bikers of all levels, from beginners to the more experienced. If you don’t have your own bike, you can hire one (electric-assisted or VTTAE) in one of the specialist shops in the Arc 1950 Village.

Let mountain hiking peak your interest

Included in the Outdoor Pass, you’ll definitely want to add hiking to your summer itinerary. Whether you want to explore with family or friends, mountain hiking in the Alps is sure to deliver some unique and spectacular views. You'll experience the stunning alpine landscape from a different perspective and be fully immersed in the unspoilt natural environment. With 35 different itineraries to choose from, ranging from 30 minutes to over 5-hours long, there’s something for every adventurer. And getting there has never been easier, as all the trails are accessible directly from the Village of Les Arcs through 11 different ski lifts.

If you want an experienced guide to join you on your hike, qualified professionals from the Evolution 2 ski school are available for full or half-day excursions.

As an added bonus, the Vanoise National Park is just around the corner waiting to be explored. A unique opportunity to retreat into nature, this 5-hectare park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including ibex, birds, chamois and bearded vultures.

Trail running, for the active adventurer
