Les Arcs
Le Village Arc 1950 is pleased to introduce to journalists their first dedicated space: updated news, a full picture library, our press pack 07/08 and several press releases. The Village is totally ski-in ski-out and has 8 4-star residences with sauna, Jacuzzi, indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool. Construction work started in 2002 with the laying of the first stone and the opening of the first apartment building, Le Hameau du Glacier, followed in 2003. In December 2003 it was time to plant the first poles and ski the first runs, as the second apartment building, Les Jardins de la Cascade, was opened and the first street completed. At the same time, the Vanoise Express opened its doors and one of the world’s biggest ski areas, Paradiski, saw the light of day. Five years later, the Arc 1950 Village is complete. The Village’s positioning Arc 1950 invents the Village : A concept that is unique in Europe: A pedestrian Village located at 1950 m, directly facing Mont-Blanc. The traditional architecture is totally in harmony with the environment. This new 4-stars tourist product benefits from one of the largest and most beautiful skis areas in the world, Paradiski. The concept suits to the new expectations of international and French customers looking for more than ski activities. 15 & 16th December: Inauguration of the Village Arc 1950 Le Village Arc 1950 is born... Whilst the Elves came to life, the fire-eaters and characters from the 1950s entertained spectators from high up on their stilts and the public were taken on a symbolic journey between two closely linked eras. The show, inspired by the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games, lasted 45 minutes and despite temperatures of -15°C, delighted the crowd. Then, the sky was lit up by a thousand lights and everyone was enthralled as the firework display began... Le Village was launched... 600 guests were present to celebrate the dawn of this project: property owners, international journalists, VIPs, national and international tourism partners and people who had participated in the construction process (Intrawest and its partners).
