In summer, the mountains around Arc 1950 Le Village offer you endless hiking trails. 

From family-friendly itineraries to trails dedicated to experienced hikers, not forgetting trail enthusiasts, there is something for everyone to enjoy and take a deep breath of fresh air and exceptional alpine landscapes. The Savoie region, and in particular the Les Arcs area, promises unique hiking trails to give you a thrill on the summits.

If the Aiguille Rouge, the highest point in the resort, is well-known in winter for its legendary ski slope which descends  2000m, in summer it provides an exceptional view of the Alpine summits that awaits at the top of the unforgettable cable car trip to get there.

It takes just a few minutes to get to the glacier perched at 3226m in the emblematic Aiguille Rouge cable car. Spend a day breathing in some refreshing alpine air with friends, family or solo up amongst some alpine peaks.

As the crow flies, the giants which surround the area of les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry seem almost within reach. It’s possible to get even closer by taking the Aiguille Rouge panoramic walkway and from there to enjoy the 360°  view over the peaks of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps. Among the most prestigious : Mont Blanc (4809m), le Grand Paradis (4061m), Mont Turia (3650m).

The Vanoise National Park, a park like no other

Closely linked to the resort of Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry, the Vanoise National Park, extending over 5 hectares, is an invitation to escape from it all and discover and admire the multitude of flora and fauna to be found in their natural habitat.

Over 120 species of nesting birds, 1800 alpine ibex (the biggest colony in France), 4000 chamois (mountain deer), a variety of different amphibians, and a few species particularly associated with the site like the bearded vulture, who’ve made their home on the cliffs of Peisey-Vallandry since 2003.

The signposted walks of the Vanoise National Park allow the walker to discover these protected places. They are accessible to all and give the perfect opportunity to reconnect to nature with the whole family.

In summer, walkers can use the 11 lifts to access 35 signposted routes of differing degrees of difficulty. There are a variety of signposted walks, from those suited to the whole family to bigger hikes in middle or high mountains, taking from 30 minutes to 5 hours long.

Getting up to the summit of the Aiguille Rouge at 3226m high, is an unmissable trip. It’s reached by cable car, and once there offers an incredible 360° view of the Alpine mountain ranges, the ‘les Hauts de Villaroger’ National Nature Reserve and the Vanoise National Park.

The area’s highest panoramic terrace at over 2700m altitude, situated at the Varet’s arrival station. Visitors can enjoy a stunning view over the surrounding alpine summits, for an experience at one with nature. A guaranteed favorite!

Before embarking for the peak of the les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry area, the summit of the Aiguille Rouge at 3226 metres, visitors can enjoy a moment of relaxation, peacefulness or adrenaline thanks to :
